City of Green 2019 Student Municipal Representative Program Applications Now Available
(March 5, 2019) Green, OH – The City of Green is pleased to announce that applications for the Student Municipal Representative program are now available. In its 3rd year, the student municipal representative program appoints students in grades 10 -12 to non-voting positions on several of the City’s boards and commissions. Designed to encourage volunteerism and civic responsibility, the program includes seats on the Planning & Zoning Commission, Design Review Board, Parks & Recreation Board, Historic Preservation Commission, Living Green Task Force and the Green Drug Task Force.
“In the first year of this program we received 11 applications, last year the number was 18” said Mayor Gerard Neugebauer. “We have been gratified by the caliber and enthusiasm of these students. Their contributions have been significant, and we look forward to meeting a new class of leaders.”
Green residents entering grades 10 – 12 this fall are invited to apply. Application deadline is April 1, 2019. Students who are selected will be required to attend an orientation in August and will begin their appointment in September. Most boards and commissions meet monthly. Student terms will follow the school year and be from September 2019 through May 2020.
