Recycling

City of Green's Recycling Center

SPECIAL NOTICE: FREE Mulch and Loading at Recycle Center on Saturdays through June 15th.
Fresh ground untreated mulch is now available at the recycle center on Saturdays through June 15 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.  The City of Green will load the mulch into pick-up trucks and trailers with a signed waiver. Residents only (no businesses).  Proof of residency required. There will NOT be any mulch delivery available.

Accepts: 

  • Yard waste (ONLY brush, branches, leaves, limbs and grass clippings). We do NOT accept stumps, lumber or dirt.
  • Aluminum Cans
  • Scrap metal
  • Paper and cardboard
  • Glass
  • Plastic containers (#1 through #7)

Please remember mulching is the best for your yard and the environment.  Although we accept grass clippings and leaves, we encourage all Green residents to mulch in place.

Curb-side recycling is available throughout the City of Green as part of the service provided by Kimble Companies.  Items accepted include: newspaper, aluminum cans, tin/steel cans, glass and plastics #1 - #7.

Curbside RecyclingKimble Trash and Recycle Bins

The City of Green offers curbside recycling through our trash provider Kimble Companies.    Recycling is picked up every other week with the trash.  

Recycle Pickup Days and accepted items

Simple Recycling, curbside recycling service for textiles and household goods, is NO longer available (effective Dec. 2018) in the City of Green.

Alternative Aluminum Can Recycling Location

Fire Station #1(located in parking lot behind the station at 1900 Steese Road) accepts aluminum cans only.
Aluminum can recycling containers are also located in the parking lot behind the Green Administration Building, 1900 Steese Road. Green Fire administers the program, and proceeds from the sale of cans are donated to the burn unit at Akron Children's Hospital.
