“We are pleased with how quickly and professionally Billy Casper Golf is transitioning Raintree Golf and Event Center as a City asset,” said Mayor Gerard Neugebauer. “Now with local staff in place, we look forward to a successful year of golf, banquets, and community events.”
The City of Green purchased Raintree Country Club, now known as Raintree Golf and Event Center at 4350 Mayfair Road, in late 2018. The City has retained Billy Casper Golf to manage the operations of the course and facility for a monthly fee with the City receiving 85% of the net profits, which will be reinvested into the facility and golf course.
For the daily-fee course, BCG will facilitate clubhouse operations, golf course maintenance, marketing and sales, staffing and training, merchandising, golf instruction and financial management. The facility will serve as a community asset delivering great golf experiences, as well as high quality non-golf events through its 400-seat capacity event center. Under BCG’s leadership, both golf and non-golf programming will be central to Raintree’s mission moving forward.
In addition, the City plans to host several new events and relocate other community events to the Raintree Event Center this year such as Oktoberfest, Murder Mystery, and Senior Holiday Luncheon.
“As our largest banquet facility in the City, we can now accommodate more residents and offer a broader range of events and activities,” said Valerie Wax Carr, Service Director for the City of Green. “We also look forward to some of the golf related community events that Billy Casper Golf will be hosting just adding to the many recreational offerings our Parks and Recreation Division offers.”
Opened in 1992, Raintree is an 18-hole public golf course with full-service event and banquet facilities. Designed by Brian Huntley, it includes four sets of tees for different skill levels. The course also features a full practice area complete with driving range, chipping and putting greens and practice bunkers.
The golf course is scheduled to open March 1, weather permitting, for golf. Contact 330-699-3232 to schedule a tee time.
