City of Green Hosts First Annual Community 5K Race and 1-mile Fun Run 
at Raintree Golf and Event Center on July 4; Proceeds to Benefit First Tee of Greater Akron

 

 

 

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE (June 5, 2019) – Mayor Gerard Neugebauer invites runners and residents to the City of Green’s inaugural Raintree 5K and Community Fun Run on Thursday, July 4 at 7:30 a.m. at Raintree Golf and Event Center, 4350 Mayfair Road.   The family-friendly race begins and ends on the fairways of the City-owned golf course.  

The 5K race steps off at 7:30 a.m. and the one-mile fun run begins at 8:30 a.m.  Registration is available online at www.active.com (search: Raintree).  Pre-registration is $30 per person for the 5K and $10 per person for the fun run. T-shirts will be provided to the first 300 registered. Awards will be presented to the top three males and females overall and top three in 13 different age groups for male and females.  Post-race refreshments will be provided to all participants.  

Packet pick up and late registration will be July 3 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Cleveland Clinic Akron General Wellness Center.  Race day registration will begin at 6:30 a.m. at Raintree Golf and Event Center.

 

 

 

Race proceeds will help support the First Tee of Greater Akron at Raintree Golf & Event Center.  Their mission is to impact the lives of young people in Greater Akron by providing educational programs that build character, instill life-enhancing values and promote healthy choices through the game of golf.
