City of Green Reviewing Petitions; Plans to Submit to BOE in Early April
Green, OH – The City of Green is reviewing the referendum petitions submitted on March 8 in response to legislation 2018-R09 regarding the settlement agreement with NEXUS. Per the Ohio Revised Code, the City is required to hold any referendum petition for a minimum of ten days to provide residents the opportunity to remove their signature if they wish and to allow the public to review the petitions.
If residents would like to review the petitions, please contact the City’s Finance Department at 330-896-6603.
Although the City has until August 8, or 90 days before the election, the City plans to deliver the petitions to the Summit County Board of Elections for signature verification in early April.
The City of Green continues to maintain its position that Resolution 2018-R09 is not subject to referendum. The Board of Elections will ultimately decide if the referendum can be placed on the ballot.
