Pavers On Sale For Veterans and First Responders

Deadline to Purchase Pavers to Honor Veterans and First Responders
for Installation by 9/11, and the dedication of the final phase of the park, is June 30

PaversGreen, OH – The City of Green is selling pavers to honor veterans and first responders to be installed in the final phase of the Green Veterans Memorial Park.  The deadline to purchase pavers for installation is by September 11 (the dedication day of the First Responders Monument) is June 30. 

The final phase of the Green Veterans Memorial Park will include a second Stories of Service Grove Walkway on the west side of the ribbon walk that will mirror the existing paver walkway on the east side.  Also a First Responders’ Monument will be added to the apex of the ribbon walk completing the Memorial Park.   A section of the western Stories of Service Grove Walkway will be dedicated to first responders – police, fire and dispatchers – along with the remaining sections of pavers for veterans. 

Pavers range from $50 to $455 depending on size and inscription.  Currently all paver sizes are still available.  To order a paver, contact the City of Green Parks and Recreation Division at 330-896-6621 or download the form online at www.cityofgreen.org/purchase-a-paver

All funds raised from the sale of pavers will be used to help complete the park.  In addition the following fundraisers are planned to benefit the Green Veterans Memorial Park.

Memorial Day Pancake Breakfast and Community Picnic Lunch – May 29
Donations will be accepted at the annual Green Fire Pancake Breakfast from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. at Fire Station #1, 4200 Massillon Road, as well as the Community Picnic Lunch at the John Torok Center at 12:30 p.m. on Memorial Day, Monday, May 29.

Honor Our Heroes Poker Run – June 4
An Honor Our Heroes Poker Run is planned for June 4 with stops at various police, fire and veteran locations.   Beginning at Central Park’s Community Hall, 1755 Town Park Blvd., with breakfast and ending the poker run at Legend’s Sports Pub and Grille.   Breakfast and Lunch included.  Cost is $15/rider. 

Dine Out at Chipotle at Arlington Ridge Marketplace -- June 5
The final dining out event is on June 5 at Chipotle located in the Arlington Ridge Marketplace from 5 p.m.- 9 p.m.  Mention the fundraiser when ordering.   50% of sales will benefit the park.

T-Shirt Sales -- Ongoing
The Green Fire Women's Auxiliary is selling t-shirts to benefit the Green Veterans Memorial Park and the First Responders Monument.  T-shirts are available in youth and adult sizes.  T-shirts will be on sale at various fundraising events or may be ordered through the t-shirt order form.  For an order form, visit www.cityofgreen.org/veteran-park-fundraising-events

Valor Ball – July 8
A Valor Ball, to honor our veteran and first responder heroes, is Saturday, July 8 at MAPS Air Museum. Tickets are $100 per person or $150/couple.  Tickets go on sale in May.   Currently the committee is looking for sponsors for the Valor Ball.  To inquire about the sponsorships, please email communications@cityofgreen.org.
