as Interim Law Director for the City of Green
Green, OH – Mayor Gerard Neugebauer appoints William Chris as Interim Law Director for the City of Green.
William Chris is a partner of the Akron-based law firm of Roderick Linton Belfance, LLP. He is presently the Akron Bar Association President Elect and a Fellow of the Akron Bar Association Foundation, currently serving on the Board of Governors as Secretary. A former prosecutor for the city of Hudson, Ohio, Chris has extensive experience in the areas of insurance defense, insurance coverage, fraud investigation, collections and business litigation.
Chris is admitted to practice law in the State of Ohio (1985); U.S. District Court, Northern District of Ohio; U.S. Court of Appeals, Sixth Circuit and the State of Florida (1986). In addition to his membership in the Akron Bar Association, William is a member of the American Bar, Ohio Bar, Akron Bar and Florida Bar associations, along with the Defense Research Institute.
Born and raised in the Akron-area, Chris graduated from the University of Toledo College of Law in 1984 and earned a Bachelor's Arts Degree from the University of Akron in 1982. A former Green resident for more than a decade, Chris currently resides in Akron with his wife Mikki and their two children.
The City of Green’s Law Director is the legal advisor on all legal matters coming before the City and represents or directs the representation of the City in all litigation, cases, or suits involving the City. In addition, the Law Director is responsible for preparing or reviewing all contracts, ordinances, resolutions, and other documents or instruments as required by the Mayor and City Council.
