LIVING GREEN is the commitment to operate through the lens of good stewardship for our people, our planet and for prosperity both today and into the future.

In 2012, the City of Green developed the Living Green initiative, a program designed to encourage good stewardship of our planet, our people and our finances.  In 2015, the City’s contract with our trash and recycling vendor, The Kimble Companies, provides a rebate to the City based on recycling volume.  These funds are the basis of the Living Green Community Grant.

Past recipients include:

 2016: The CommUnity Garden -- $1,000

In 2017, the City of Green is making available $1800.00 of these rebate funds in the form of Community Grants to be awarded to non-profit organizations, operating within the City whose projects or missions are consistent with the Living Green priorities and that increase our City's livability.

Projects should promote one or more of the following Living Green values:

·       Energy Savings

·       Water Quality & Conservation

·       Waste Reduction

·       Local Food

·       Community/Volunteer Engagement

·       Healthy community

Applications may be sent by email to or by regular U.S. Mail or hand delivered to the City of Green Central Administration Building, 1755 Town Park Boulevard, Green, Ohio 44232-0278, and must be received by 3:00 pm on Friday, April 28, 2017.  Grant awards will be determined by the Living Green Task Force.  For more information, visit grant or contact Valerie Wolford at or (330)896-6602.
