City of Green Breaks Ground on Fire Station No. 3 at the Corner of Raber and Mayfair Roads
Green, OH –Today, the City of Green officially broke ground on its third fire station located at the corner of Raber and Mayfair Roads.
During the brief ceremony, Mayor Gerard Neugebauer thanked Green City Council, the architect Prime AE, construction manager Infinity Construction, along with City staff and members of the Green Fire Division for their work on the project prior to the ceremonial groundbreaking. The station is anticipated to open in December 2019.
The fire station is being constructed to meet the needs of the emergency call volumes in the northeast quadrant of the City. The location at Raber and Mayfair Roads also provides easy access to the Massillon Road business corridor as well as I-77 for improved response times.
“This third station will provide a better level of safety-response service to our community, especially in the northeast quadrant of the City,” said Mayor Gerard Neugebauer.
City Council approved the $4.387 million project, of which $3 million was allocated from the Nexus pipeline settlement funds.
