Green Parks and Recreation Division has Fall Filled with Senior Events

Green, OH – With Fall fast approaching, the Green Parks and Recreation Division has several events including three day trips, a free hearing clinic, and holiday luncheon for Green’s active seniors ages 50+.

Bus trips include: the Ohio Swiss Festival in Sugarcreek, Ohio on Friday, September 28; the Apple Butter Stirin’ Festival in Coshocton on Friday, October 19; and the Oglebay Festival of Lights with stops at The Barn and Lehman’s Hardware on Thursday, November 8.

All trips depart from the John Torok Community/Senior Center, 4242 Massillon Road, at approximately 10 a.m. The September and October trips are $20/person and the November trip is $25/person. Cost includes transportation. Lunch and admission to October’s Apple Butter Stirin’ Festival ($3) are additional. Buses for the September Swiss Festival will return at 6 p.m. after a late lunch/early dinner at Miller’s Dutch Kitchen. The October and November trips will return at approximately 7:30 p.m. and 9:30, respectively. Payment is required with reservation. On October 11, Omni Advanced Hearing Center is hosting a FREE hearing clinic for residents 50+ at the John Torok Community Center beginning at 8 a.m. Residents interested in receiving a free hearing screening with video ear inspection, and cleaning and checking of hearing aids, should schedule an appointment time by calling 330-896-6621.

The final senior event of 2012 is the annual Holiday Luncheon on December 6 at The 356th Fighter Group, 4919 Mount Pleasant Road, at 11:30 a.m. Cost is $7 per person for the buffet lunch. Reservations are required for this annual sell-out by calling 330-896-6621 or registering in person at the Parks and Recreation Office, 1755 Town Park Blvd.
