Dog Park Grand Opening is May 3 & 4

Let the Dogs Out on May 3 & 4 for the Green Dog Park Opening Weekend Events

Green, OH – The City of Green is going to the dogs with two Grand Opening eventsDog Park Grand Opening on May 3 and 4 at the Green Dog Park at Ariss Park, 2520 Wise Road. 

On May 3, the City will host the official ribbon cutting and opening of the Dog Park, the newest feature in Green City parks, at 1 p.m.  The brief ceremony will include the ribbon cutting and ceremonial planting of a tree for Arbor Day 2019.  The tree, a snow-white dogwood, will be planted near the entrance gates to the Dog Park.  Following the ceremony, dogs and their owners are welcome to enjoy the dog park. 

The Dog Park is 1.87 acres off-leash dog run with two sections – a 1.3-acre large dog area and a .5-acre small dog run.  The park includes water foundations for humans and dogs sponsored by Aqua, the City’s municipal water supplier.  In addition, Pet Supplies Plus is sponsoring the waste disposal stations and supplying the waste bags for the park. 

On May 4, a Grand Opening Open House is planned from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. with vendors, giveaways, food and fun.  Vendors include Pet Supplies Plus, Aqua, Quick Clean Mobile, Yip Yip Dog Biscuits and more.  In addition, Sheetz will provide coffee, hot chocolate and donuts.  At 10 a.m. the Ohio State Highway Patrol K9 unit will conduct a demonstration near the dog park.  All dogs will receive a doggie bandana, while supplies last.

The park is open sunrise to sunset.  All dogs must be vaccinated. Dogs under 4 months of age and aggressive dogs are not permitted in the park.  The City asks that dog owners follow all the posted rules of the dog park to ensure a fun, safe environment for all.
