Deadline to purchase a Veterans Memorial Park Paver to be installed by November 11, 2012 is Friday, October 5
Green, OH – For those interested in purchasing a memorial paver to be installed at the Green Veterans Memorial Park by this Veterans Day, November 11, the deadline is Friday, October 5.
The Green Veterans Memorial Park, 1900 Steese Road, was built and dedicated in 2010. The Stories of Service Grove walkway is paved with more than 400 memorial pavers. To date paver sales has raised over $54,026 for the memorial, the largest single fundraiser to date. Pavers are available in the following sizes: 4 X 8 inch brick, and 12 X 12 inch limestone.. Prices range from $50 to $345. Proceeds benefit the memorial park and future additions to it.
Paver forms are available in the Parks and Recreation office, 1755 Town Park Blvd. Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. or online at www.cityofgreen.org/veterans-park.
This year the City will host its annual Veterans Day ceremony on Sunday, November 11 at 2 p.m. Immediately following the ceremony refreshments will be served in the John Torok Community/Senior Center.
