City Council Passes Resolution Supporting Bridgestone Invitational Tournament

City of Green City Council Joins the City of Akron
to stress the importance of retaining the Bridgestone Invitational Tournament

Green, OH – On December 12, Green City Council and Mayor Neugebauer joined the City of Akron and others by supporting its own resolution urging the PGA Tour to retain the annual Bridgestone Invitational at Firestone Country Club.  The legislation brought before the council as a whole was unanimously passed conveying its full support for the tournament. The event brings thousands of guests into the Akron area and Green resulting in a significant impact to our local economy each year.  A copy of the resolution (2017-R81) will be shared with the office of the PGA Tour and the Bridgestone Corporation.
