Cities Without Drugs Task Force To Host Community Outreach Meeting on Feb. 13

The City of Green’s City Without Drugs Task Force is hosting a Community Outreach Meeting on February 13 at the Central Administration Building

Green, OH – The City of Green’s City Without Drugs -- Green Task Force is hosting a community outreach meeting on Monday, February 13* at 6:30 p.m. in City Council Chambers, 1755 Town Park Blvd.   The meeting will share neighborhood specific statistics of calls for drug overdoses as well as how Green Fire and the Summit County Sheriff Department and others are working together to combat the drug issue in our own backyard.

“The purpose of these meetings is to shine a light on the problem of drug abuse and specifically how it is everywhere and crosses socio economic boundaries. It is a serious epidemic and Green is not immune,” said Brian Lloyd, Green fire medic, member of the Green Drug Task Force and presenter of the community outreach program. “Over the past three years, drug overdoses in Green and the region have increased.  It’s time to do something about it and that starts with education.”

The presentation will include an update on the opiate epidemic in Summit County and within the City of Green.  Crime and response statistics will be shared along with details on how our safety services are managing these issues.  In addition, resources and information for families and those impacted by drug abuse will be shared.    Light refreshments will be served.  All meetings are open to all residents of Green.

The presentation portion of the meeting will be live streamed and recorded on www.cityofgreen.org/videos. For more information, visit www.cityofgreen.org/citieswithoutdrugs.
