Green, OH – The City of Green’s City Without Drugs -- Green Task Force is hosting a Community Outreach Meeting on Monday, February 13 at 6:30 p.m. in City Council Chambers, 1755 Town Park Blvd. The meeting will share neighborhood specific statistics of calls for drug overdoses as well as how Green Fire and the Summit County Sheriff Department and others are working together to combat the drug issue in our own backyard.
“The purpose of these meetings is to shine a light on the problem of drug abuse and specifically how it is everywhere and crosses socioeconomic boundaries. It is a serious epidemic and Green is not immune,” said Brian Lloyd, Green fire medic, member of the Green Drug Task Force and a presenter of the community outreach program. “Over the past three years, drug overdoses in Green and the region have increased. It’s time to do something about it and that starts with education.”

Crime and response statistics will be shared along with details on how our safety services are managing these issues. In addition, resources and information for families and those impacted by drug abuse will be shared. Light refreshments will be served. All meetings are open to all residents of Green.
