Throughout 2019, the City of Green Parks & Recreation will be hosting Knit for the Needy making afghans and other "warm items" for those in need. This program is free and open to all who want to attend. The programs will be held at the John Torok Community and Senior Center, 4224 Massillon Road, on the first and third Thursday of every month, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. (with the exception of December; January and February is weather permitting). Yarn will be provided, however, participants will need to bring their own knitting needles and/or crochet hooks. Members are encouraged to make any items that they would like (gloves, mittens, scarves, hats, blankets, etc.). Patterns for various items will also be provided. Please bring a covered dish you would like to share! All the materials that are produced will be donated to the Green Good Neighbors. If you cannot attend during this time frame, the City of Green will still gladly take any donations of completed warm items and/or yarn.
