Akron Children’s Hospital Giving Away Child Bike Helmets, while supplies last
Green, OH – The Green Parks and Recreation Division is hosting the sixth annual Bring Your Bike to the Park family event on April 21 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Green’s Central Park, 1795 Steese Road. The event will include a pre-season 'tune-up' including brake adjustments, chain cleaning and seat and tire checks provided by Ernie’s Bike Shop. Boy Scout Troop 330 invite kids under the age of 12 to ride a bike skills course set up in the Steese Road parking lot (1795 Steese Road). In addition, the Summit County Sheriff will share bike safety tips. While supplies last, each child will receive a new bike helmet courtesy of Akron Children’s Hospital.
The event is free to attend and open to all ages. The City will also be accepting used or old bikes at the event, which will be reconditioned and donated to those in need.
Registration is not required for this event. In the event of inclement weather, the bike check, helmet distribution, and bike safety tips will move indoors of the Central Park Community Hall.
