Yes, a fishing license is required if you are fishing at Southgate Park only. A fishing permit is not required at Boettler Park. Obtain a fishing license online.
In the event of inclement weather baseball, softball, soccer, and lacrosse field status updates can be found on the city's home page. The alert will be featured on the homepage in the center column. You can also sign up to receive text alerts for field closures. Call the Parks and Rec office at 330-896-6621 for details.
The Dog Park at Ariss Park is a 1.87 acre off-leash dog run that is open dawn to dusk. Dogs are also permitted in Ariss Park (walking path), East Liberty Park, Central Park, and Southgate Park, but must remain on leash. Dogs may also be walked at Nimisila Reservoir and Knapp Recreation area. Contact the local office of the Ohio Division of Natural Resources at 330-644-2220.

The entrance for Southgate Park is located within Boettler Park on 5300 Massillon Road. Follow signs to Southgate Park.
All our parks open at sunrise and close 30 minutes after the sun sets with the exception of special events or scheduled activities.

Pavers may be purchased in the Parks and Recreation Office, Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. or through the online reservation system. Submit an order form (PDF).
