History
Opened in 2006, East Liberty Park is a former sand and gravel quarry. The 66-acre park provides for an array of recreation activities for residents including baseball/softball fields, playground, pavilion, basketball courts, tennis courts, and a pond.
Parking is located off of State Route 619. In addition, a pedestrian entrance from Charleston Drive provides for easy access for the residents of the "Shires."
Walking Trail
A Walking trail is planned to be added throughout the nearly 46 acres of wooded park land. The trail, which will connect Charleston Drive to Liberty Green, will wind through existing wetlands, meadows, and wooded lands. All of the trail built has been completed by Boy Scouts as Eagle Scout projects. In the future, the pond and surrounding area will be enhanced to provide a pleasing and accessible water feature and fishing area.
