1. What is CodeRED?

CodeRED is an Emergency Notification System, which allows the City of Green to contact residents and businesses in the event of an emergency via phone call, text or email.

2. Why do I have to re-register?

The City switched service providers from Everbridge/Nixle to CodeRED for our emergency alerts. While data was transferred, we ask that all residents register or re-register to ensure we have the most accurate information for you.

3. How do I enroll?

Enroll in one of three ways:

• Call our non-emergency dispatch number at 330-896-6610 to enroll over the phone
• Enroll online
• Text GREENOH to 99-411. Once you receive a reply text from this number, follow the link to complete your registration

4. What type of notifications will I receive?

You can expect to receive notifications about:

• Community Updates
• Critical Community Alerts (temporary road closures, etc)
• Emergency Events
• Severe Weather Notification
• Other Information

5. What type of information is required to register?

Participation is voluntary. A valid email and phone number will be needed to sign-up. During the registration process we will ask you to give us information about yourself such as your address, your primary language, and if you require any special assistance during an emergency event.

6. How will I receive messages?

Messages can be delivered in a number of ways:

• Email
• Home/Work/Cell Phone
• Mobile Application: CodeRED Mobile Alert (free download on Apple or Google App Stores)
• Short Messaging Service (SMS) / Text Message
• TDD Transmission
