Republic’s trash cart is a 96-gallon blue cart. The Republic recycling cart is a 65-gallon green cart.
The new trash contract starts on April 1, 2021. This is a Thursday so the first Republic routes will start on Thursday and then move forward with Friday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday routes. No Kimble routes will be serviced after March 31, 2021.
Deliveries will begin as early as March 10th. It is expected all carts will be delivered by April 3rd. Thursday and Friday customers will receive their cart in time for their first collection day.
You will automatically be set up at the same service level and a bill will be generated from that information. The “first” bill will begin to arrive in mid-April. Specific billing requests such as auto pay can be made by calling Republic at 1-800-247-3644, online at republicservices.com or download the Republic Services App. Keep in mind, the next invoice (July-Aug-Sept) will arrive around June 18th. All subsequent invoices will arrive about “two weeks before” your next quarterly billing period.
Any “Head-of-Household” that is 65 years or older can obtain a Sr. Citizen discount for the “Limited Service”. Simply call 800-247-3644 to request it. Keep in mind the service is limited to the amount of material that will fit inside the cart “with the lid closed” each week. Any bulk items or extra bags set outside the cart will be charged extra on your next invoice.

Unopened packages (10 pack) may be returned to Kimble for a refund. Less than 10 bags may be exchanged at the Central Administration Building for Republic bags.
If you are an unlimited customer, you can place extra bags, bundles, or bulk items outside of you cart each week for collection. The amount is only limited to a weeks’ worth of material generated by your household. It does not include material from renovations, garage or attic cleanouts. Excessive amounts of trash can be collected if you call 800-247-3644 and ask for a special cleanup.
Keep in mind, Recycling has been changed to “weekly” collection so you should have plenty of capacity for your clean and dry recyclables.
No changes in collection days are anticipated. The time of collection could change from the afternoon to first thing in the morning, but the collection “day” will not change. All other changes will be posted on the City website. Any delays due to construction or weather-related issues will be sent via robo-call so it is important that your phone numbers are updated in your Republic account. Simply call the Call Center at 800-247-3644.
The list of items is clearly outlined on the Republic Services brochure and the City of Green web site. Please stick to the list. Placing the wrong items into the recycling bin creates an undo expense. Examples of items that are NOT Recyclable are appliances, metal blinds and children’s toys which mistakenly get placed in the cart, causing contaminants.
No. As a residential property in Green, property owners are required to use the same trash provider. In 2003, City Council passed an ordinance (10-R56) that required the City administration to obtain the best value for Green residential trash removal that would also minimize congestion and wear and tear on our streets related to multiple trash removal providers. To obtain the best value, the City engaged in a competitive bidding process. Republic was the lowest and best bid following this process.
Residents with UNLIMITED service may order additional carts through Republic after March 25 trash or recycle carts are $3 each month.
