Massillon Road North Construction Project Contract Awarded; Green City Council Approved Issuing of Bonds for $9.9 million for Project
GREEN, Ohio – April 23, 2020 – On April 14, Green City Council approved a $12.2 million contract with Karvo Companies Inc. to construct the Massillon Road North improvement project. In separate legislation, City Council also approved the issuing of bonds up to $9,900,000 to fund the project.
The Massillon Road North construction improvement project includes widening Massillon Road from Raber Road to just past State Route 619 to four-lanes with roundabouts at Raber Rd, Stein Rd, and State Route 619/East Turkeyfoot Lake Road. In addition, sidewalks and a multipurpose trail will be added to make the corridor more pedestrian-friendly. The project is set to begin in June 2020 and take two years to complete. Pre-construction work including utility relocation began in late 2019.
A total of six construction companies bid on the project. Karvo Companies Inc. was the lowest bid at $12,245,167.93.
