Discover New Paths in Green with Parker’s Trail Challenge
GREEN, Ohio – Green Parks’ Mascot Parker challenges families to explore the outdoors this Fall in our first Parker’s Trail Challenge from September 15 through November 15. Residents and nonresidents who choose to participate can earn rewards by completing the eight selected trails in the 2020 Parker’s Trail Challenge trails. Selected trails are well maintained, easily accessible, and range from .5 miles to 3.1 miles in length.
This year’s challenge trails can be found at Southgate Park, Boettler Park, Ariss Park, The Chapel in Green, Akron Metro Park Nimisila Reservoir, Ohio State Park Knapp Recreation Area, Central Park, and Veterans Park.
"These are some of my favorite trails in our city,” said Gerard Neugebauer, mayor. “I hope you enjoy exploring the outdoors with your family this fall.”
Participants who complete the challenge are eligible to receive a hiking backpack and a challenge completion patch to be displayed on your backpack. Participants who complete the challenge yearly will receive a new patch each year. The first 50 participants to turn in their completed Parker’s Trail Challenge form will receive the backpack and patch. The Trail Challenge is free for all residents. Cost for non-residents, if they wish to receive a backpack, is $25
To claim a reward, please print and fill out the challenge brochure found at cityofgreen.org/TrailChallenge. Completed forms will be accepted November 15-December 1 for your rewards. Forms may be turned in at the Parks office, 1755 Town Park Blvd, or online beginning November. 15.
