City of Green and Green Area Chamber Launch COVID-19 Fund
GREEN, Ohio – In response to community need, the City of Green has teamed up with the Green Area Chamber to create the Green Area Chamber Community Foundation. This fund allows residents and businesses to make tax deductible donations through the Green Area Chamber that will be used to support and fund local not-for-profits who are assisting those in need due to unforeseen hardships created from the COVID-19 pandemic.
“This fund through the Green Chamber fills a need in our community that government can’t,” said Mayor Gerard Neugebauer. “We are grateful to the Chamber for creating this fund to help our community.”
The fund has already received $12,500 in pledged donations from several community members including: gold level donors ($5,000+) Dale and Wendy Brott and Mr. and Mrs. Philip H. Maynard; and silver level donor ($2,500+) John and Jane Warmus; and a handful of resident contributions. Donations of any amount are accepted through the Green Area Chamber’s website at www.greenareachamber.org
“The Chamber is excited about our initial philanthropic effort in the community of Green,” said Jim Corra, president of the Green Area Chamber. “We are pleased that we are able to serve the community in this way and look to assist in broadening this effort as our community’s needs change after the pandemic is behind us.”
