New Stay at Home Order issued for All of Ohio

On April 2, 2020 Ohio Governor Mike DeWine, Lt. Governor Jon Husted, and Ohio Department of Health Director Amy Acton, M.D. MPH, announced that Ohio will be under an additional "Stay at Home" order.

The new order will go into effect beginning Monday, April 6, 2020, at 11:59 p.m. and will remain in effect until 11:59 p.m. on May 1, 2020, unless the order is rescinded or modified.

Thanks to Toth Buick for Lending 6 Pickup Trucks to the City

Thank you to Toth Buick for lending the City of Green six new pickup trucks for our service crews to use to get to their work locations throughout the day. With these added trucks, our workers can drive separately and maintain proper social distancing. Thanks Toth Buick!


Food Assistance Available to Green Residents in Need

If your family is in need of food assistance, please call Green Together at 330-896-6933, email or fill out our needs assistance form. We can connect you with food available in our community for those in need.

Food Assistance for Children in Our Community

  • All Green Local School children are eligible for free grab and go lunches distributed on Mondays and Thursdays. See details.
  • Sheetz, 1651 E Turkeyfoot Lake Rd., offers a free bagged lunch (turkey sandwich, chips and a drink) for children. See details.

Grocery Shopping Available for Seniors and those Quarantined

If your family has a member who is sick, please stay home and self-quarantine your entire family.

During this time, if you need assistance in getting groceries, please contact Green Together at 330-896-6933. We have partnered with Parkside Church who has a team of volunteers who will grocery shop and deliver them to your door. This program is also available to seniors who may be uncomfortable grocery shopping at this time.

If you are interested in making a monetary donation to Parkside Church’s benevolence fund. The benevolence fund covers the cost of groceries for those who can’t afford to pay. Donate here.

CDC Recommends Wearing a Cloth Mask When in Public

CDC recommends wearing cloth face coverings in public settings where other social distancing measures are difficult to maintain (e.g., grocery stores and pharmacies), especially in areas of significant community-based transmission.

Request a mask. Residents may request one of our donated masks. Please note masks are in high demand and will be distributed as available. They are NOT available for pick up at the Central Administration Building. Request a mask.

In the meantime, if you don’t have a mask, a bandana or scarf can also be used when out in public.

*When dropping off masks, please drop in a note with your name, address and phone number. We are also accepting donations of fabric and/or elastic.

If you are unable to get out to drop off masks during these times, call us at 330-896-6933 and we will make arrangements to pick them up.

City Income Tax Deadline Extended to July 15

Following passage of Ohio House Bill 197, the State of Ohio income tax deadline is now aligned with the Federal government deadline. All federal, state and municipal taxes are due July 15, 2020.

Friday Family Fun: Green Community Bingo Challenge

Join the Green Community Bingo Challenge. The Green Parks and Recreation Division create a family-oriented bingo challenge to promote an active and connected community while at home.

Families can download their bingo card at As you complete the challenge, share your photos of the fun activities you completed or a selfie with your winning bingo card. Tag the City on Facebook @CityofGreenOhio.
