Governor Mike DeWine has issued a new order beginning May 1 to reopen Ohio businesses in three phases. The order also includes new protocols for all businesses operating during this time.

Takeout Tuesday: Continue to Support Green Restaurants

Recap of Opened City of Green Facilities

The following facilities are open:

  • Baseball/Softball Fields at Greensburg and East Liberty Park for the Green Baseball/Softball Federation.
  • Tennis and Pickleball courts.
  • Dog Park at Ariss Park. Please bring water for you and your dog. Public drinking fountains are not available.  
  • Raintree Golf and Event Center, visit for more information. 
  • City Recycle Center is open Tuesdays and Thursdays, 12 p.m. – 6 p.m. and Saturdays, 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. Please note: Recycle Center closed June 4 for mulch grinding.

The following facilities remain CLOSED:

  • All playground equipment at all City of Green parks. 
  • All park restrooms. Greensburg Park and East Liberty Park restrooms will be open on a limited basis during practice and game times. 
  • All sports fields are closed to sports organizations with the exception of baseball fields. 
  • The Splash Pad at Central Park. Tentatively scheduled to reopen on July 1. 
  • Volleyball and basketball courts in City of Green parks.
  • John Torok Center, Central Park Community Hall and Park Pavilion reservations are NOT currently being accepted.

Reopened with Restrictions:

  • The Central Administration Building open by appointment. 
  • City Council and all public meetings will continue to meet virtually with public viewing available through the City’s website at

Please continue to follow proper social distancing guidelines when using any of Green City Park facilities. Guidelines will be posted.

2nd Annual Raintree 5K Planned for July 4

The City of Green is hosting our second annual Raintree 5K and Fun Run on Saturday, July 4 at Raintree Golf and Event Center. Social distancing measures and staggered race start times will be in place. 5K race is $25/runner. Fun Run is $8/person.

Proceeds from the race will benefit The First Tee Greater Akron.

Green Together Accepting Donations to the Citywide

COVID-19 Community Support Fund

Green Together is the City’s initiative to help residents and businesses through the COVID-19 crisis. The City has teamed up with the Green Area Chamber to accept donations to the COVID-19 Community Support Fund. Funds will be granted to local not-for-profits to serve those in need in Green.

Various Construction and Maintenance Projects Throughout Green this Week 

There are several locations in Green where minor construction projects/utility maintenance will be taking place this week including:

  1. Resurfacing along SR619 between Arlington and Cottage Grove is scheduled for Wednesday.
  2. Pavement restoration at Arlington/SR619 intersection.
  3. AT&T will continue installing communications cables along Boettler Road. This project will take several weeks with limited impacts to traffic.
  4. Aqua Ohio will be completing new water lines along Mayfair Road.
  5. New road construction will continue on Camelot Circle.
  6. Resurfacing will begin on E. Comet Road later this week or early next week.

All projects are weather dependent. Traffic will be maintained throughout. Please drive with caution near any work zone.
