The members of the Design Review Board are appointed to 2 year staggered terms in the following manor;1 member appointed by the Mayor and 2 members appointed by City Council, per Green City Charter.  

Board Responsibilities

In accordance with the City of Green’s Land Development Code, the Design Review Board shall have the following functions, powers and duties:

  • Encourage quality development and establish compatibility of design
  • Ensure proper design of sites for effective use of land
  • Establish a sense of place and identity for the community
  • Promote high standards in the layout, design, landscaping and construction

The Design Review Board is charged with the review of design elements submitted for review including:

  • Loading facilities
  • Access for public safety services
  • Accessory structures
  • Architectural details
  • Architectural style
  • Building-mounted utilities/mechanical
  • Circulation
  • Height, width, scale and proportion
  • Landscape design
  • Materials
  • Orientation
  • Parking facilities
  • Signs
  • Site layout
  • Utilities and lighting
  • Waste storage

The recommendation of the Design Review Board is considered by the Planning and Zoning Commission as a part of their review and decision process.

Applications

Applications are available online, however, the Planning Department does require that all applicants schedule a pre-application conference with a member of the staff prior to the submission of an application.
