Prescription Drug Disposal

To properly and safely dispose of unwanted, expired, or unused prescription drugs, the following options are available:

  • Drug Disposal Drop Off Boxes (PDF): The Summit County Sheriff Department Training Center, located at 2825 Greensburg Road, has a drug disposal drop-off box. Drop off is:
    Monday through Friday
    7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Drug Take Back Day

The Summit County Sheriff participates in the annual Drug Enforcement Administration National Drug Take Back Days in April and October (typically the last Saturday of the month) from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. In the City of Green, the Take Back Days are hosted at the Summit County Sheriff office located at:

Drug Disposal Pouches

Through a partnership with the Safe RX Regional Collaborative, the City of Green has drug disposal bags available to residents free of charge. The bags contain a charcoal insert that when activated renders the drug inactive and safe for disposal in the trash. The bags are available at the following locations:

Aluminum Cans for Burned Children (ACBC)

The receptacles are located behind Fire Station Number 1 located 1900 Steese Road. Please limit your donations to aluminum cans only. For additional information please review the Trash Service Page.
