City of Green Parks and Recreation Offers Two New Youth Programs – Archery & Golf – this Spring
GREEN, OH – The City of Green Parks and Recreation Division is pleased to announce two new youth programs it is offering this spring – Youth Archery and Starting New at Golf or S.N.A.G.
Youth archery will be held in Southgate Park on Wednesday evenings beginning April 4. The program, for kids ages 8 to 15 years old, will teach participants archery safety, how to shoot recurve and compound bows, how to set-up an archery range and more. Classes will be held from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. for 8 to 11 year olds and 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. for 12 to 15 year olds. Equipment will be provided, however, students are welcome to bring their own bow. Cost is $25 per resident and $30 per non-resident.
Starting New at Golf, or S.N.A.G., is geared to 5 to 7 year olds as a new cutting edge way to teach kids the sport of golf. S.N.A.G. uses modified equipment and terminology to help kids understand the concepts of golf in a fun and age appropriate way. Participants will use equipment like launchers (clubs), rollers (putters), launch pads (tees), and more to understand the purposes of different equipment as well as the essentials of the game. Classes will be held at Ariss Park on Thursday evenings from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. or 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. from May 3 through May 31. Cost is $50 per resident and $60 for non-residents.
