Green, OH – The City of Green is looking for 150+ volunteers to assist in building the new Heritage Hill playground at Boettler Park, 5300 Massillon Road, on Friday, Sept. 16 and Saturday, Sept. 17. Both days volunteers are needed from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The week of September 12, Playworld Midstates, the manufacturer and builder the new playground, will be installing the main structures of the new playground in preparation for the community volunteer days on Friday and Saturday. On Friday, community volunteers will be working in teams of six to build out some of the accessory items on the playground. On Saturday, teams will complete any construction needed, plus the task of spreading mulch will begin. Saturday is a kid-friendly day; however, the City requests school-aged children only with a parent or a responsible adult (i.e. part of a scout group volunteering or the like).
For more information or to register, visit www.cityofgreen.org/volunteer. Groups (not-for-profits, organizations or businesses) are encouraged to participate as well.
Volunteers will be asked to bring some of their own work tools depending on their assigned project. For examples, work gloves, rakes, shovels, etc. for those spreading mulch. A list of tools will be shared with the volunteers once they are registered.
The community volunteer days will be rain or shine. In the event of significant rain or storms, the event may be rescheduled.
