150 Volunteers Needed for Heritage Hill Playground Rebuild -- Sept. 16 & 17

Heritage Hill rendering The City needs 150 volunteers to assist with a variety of building activities for the construction of the new Heritage Hill Playground at Boettler Park.   All levels of experience are needed.   Adults (and older children with parents on-site) are invited to volunteer.  We also need a handful of volunteers to assist in coordinating volunteers, water/food breaks, etc.   Please email tangerine@cityofgreen.org for more details or to register to volunteer.   

Monday, Sept. 12 -- Team leader meeting @ 6 p.m. at Boettler Park
All team leaders are asked to attend this meeting to discuss plans for Friday and Saturday

Friday, Sept. 16 -- Volunteer Day -- beginning at 8 a.m.
Nine teams of 4-6 each needed to complete various projects.   One team leader for each team needed.   Tool list

Saturday, Sept. 17 -- Volunteer Day -- beginning at 8 a.m.
Eleven teams of 4-6 needed.   In addition, 50+ people needed to assist in spreading mulch.  Tools needed:  wheelbarrows, rakes, shovels, work gloves, etc. (tools to spread mulch).   Complete tool list.

On-going opportunities

  1. On-going Litter Pick-up in our Parks -- perfect volunteer opportunity for someone who spends time in our parks.  We are looking for volunteers to pick-up litter as needed.
  2. Baseball/Softball Field Prep -- Assist youth baseball and softball leagues with lining the batter's box and setting bases before games.

  • Volunteer Opportunity:  October 1, 2016 Growing Green Wetland Day

Green Local Schools and City of Green are collaborating on a Wetland Community Event on Saturday, Oct. 1 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.  We are looking for a few volunteers to assist with set-up and the event.   Please email mcmahanjulie@greenlocalschools.org if interested or for more details.

Rebuilding Together Northeast Ohio is starting a new handyman/handywoman program called RT DIRECT! If you have previous home repair experience or are trainable in home repair WE NEED YOU to help us make minor home repairs to improve the health and safety of low-income homeowners in Northeast Ohio!
