CITY OF GREEN WEBSITE POLICY

POLICY:

Purpose: To outline procedures for maintenance of the newly established City of Green website and the manner by which information is directed to and received by the Website Administrator. The City of Green maintains a website for access to city-related information. It is the City’s goal to keep current and accurate information available to the public on this site, and updates will be made on a regular basis in order to incorporate improvements over time.

1. Public Information Issues

The City’s website and the selection of external links to other sites contained on the website are not intended to serve as a forum for public discussion. The information is available strictly as an information resource for its users.

II. Maintenance

The Law Department Administrative Coordinator will serve as the website administrator and will be responsible for reviewing all updated information as it is received. The Mayor’s Secretary and Human Resources Coordinator will serve as backup/support to the website administrator. For site security purposes, only these three city employees will have access to the website with the capability of making revisions to it.

Department/Division Heads are responsible for forwarding information to the website administrator. Updates to the website will be made on a monthly basis, and should be forwarded to the website administrator no later than the last working Friday of each month at 4:00 p.m. (before that time would be appreciated). Information must be forwarded via email. All information submitted is subject to approval by the Mayor.

When submitting information, please keep the following in mind:

  • Is the information frequently requested by the public?
  • Is it in a format which would look appropriate on the website?
  • Is this information beneficial to City of Green residents?

Questions and/or comments about the website are to be forwarded to the website administrator. If questions are related to a specific department, this information should be given to the appropriate Director, who shall provide a response to the website administrator.

III. Links to Other Internet Sites

The City of Green provides, but is not responsible for, the availability of outside internet links on our City’s website. Linked websites are not under the control of, nor maintained by, the City of Green. These links do not constitute an endorsement by the City of Green for any of the sites or materials found there.

IV. Disclaimer

The City of Green is committed to providing a user-friendly website. It does not warrant or make endorsements to the quality, content, accuracy or completeness of the information contained within. Materials have been provided from a variety of sources, and the City of Green administration will not be liable for damages of any kind arising from the use of the website, regardless of cause.
