Touch-A-Truck Event Joins Trick-Or-Treat Trail on Oct. 20 at Boettler Park

The City of Green’s 16th Annual Trick-or-Treat Trail is Oct. 20
along with a Touch-A-Truck Event 2 to 5 p.m. at Boettler Park

Green, OH – The City of Green’s 16th Annual Trick-or-Treat Trail, Costume Contest and first annual Touch-A-Truck Event is Saturday, October 20 at Boettler Park, 5300 Massillon Road.

The Trick-or-Treat Trail, which winds around the Boettler Park Pond, is from 3 to 5 p.m. Prior to the opening of the trail, the annual costume contest will begin at 2:15 p.m. on the tennis courts for the following age categories – 0-2 year olds, 3-5 year olds, 6 to 8 year olds, and 9 to 12 year olds.

Beginning at 2 p.m. and throughout the trail time, the City’s touch-a-truck event will be open to kids of all ages to explore and touch a variety of vehicles including The City of Green’s Street Sweeper and dump truck, several Fire Division vehicles, the Summit County Sherriff’s SWAT vehicle, an Ohio State Highway Patrol vehicle, and Children’s Hospital’s Air Bear helicopter among others.

On October 20 only, the family-friendly hayrides through Southgate Park will begin at 5 p.m. instead of 7 p.m. Cost is $6 for anyone over 6 years of age pre-sale or $10 at the door; kids 5 and under are $1 each. Tickets may be purchased at the Parks and Recreation office Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Camp Y-Noah, the Green Family YMCA, or any Akron Area YMCA. Proceeds from the Haunted Hayride benefit Camp Y-Noah’s Partners With Youth program.

In the event of inclement weather, please visit the City of Green’s website at the day of the event for any cancellation information. In the past the trick-or-treat trail has been held in rain.
