Green, OH – Play will commence on August 29 at 10 a.m. after a brief ceremony and ribbon cutting for the new ADA-accessible playground at the John Torok Senior Center and Community Park, 4224 Massillon Road.   The play structure named the Patriot Playground due to its proximity to the Green Veterans Memorial Park at the John Torok Senior Center and Community Park replaces a 25-year-old play structure at the park.

The red, white and blue structure features a handicap-accessible ramp, 8-foot slither slide, 4-foot twist and shout double slide, 9-foot spiral slide, crisscross rope climber, 8-foot rock wall, drop zone floating platform, and poured-in-place playground safety surface.

The structure is being paid for in part by a $62,633 NatureWorks grant from the Ohio Department of Natural Resources, which the city received in 2014.     Total cost of construction was just under $170,000.
