Access to Southgate Park will be from Boettler Park on Massillon Rd.

Southgate Park opened to the public on Sunday, June 4th! Despite a rainy start, many residents and neighbors stopped by to explore the new park and enjoy the reception at the Main Lodge. Although Southgate Park is now open to the public, it is important to note that the Main Lodge, although open for viewing on Sunday, June 4th for the open house/reception, will not be open to the public. Southgate Park is a 205 acre tract of property that abuts Boettler Recreational Park to the north. The natural landscape includes forestland, wetlands, stocked ponds and is inhabited by a variety of rare and endangered plant and animal species. Southgate Park is sure to be a visitor destination with the potential for educational oportunities for nature lovers, as well as children and their families. Because there will be no vehicle traffic permitted in the park, visitors will be able to enjoy the scenic setting and wildlife without disturbing its breathtaking beauty. Access to Southgate Park will only be permitted to visitors from Boettler Recreational Park on Massillon Road. Southgate Park is truly an asset to the City of Green that will be enjoyed by future generations. The City of Green is excited about the addition of this beautiful property to our existing parks system.
