A
Great Place to Work and Open a Business...
Corporate
Services
The City of Green has several quality business parks that serve the needs
of corporations seeking to expand or relocate into modern office space.
Each business park is easily accessible to I-77, local state highways,
and the Akron-Canton Airport. The airport provides direct service to Cleveland,
Columbus, Cincinnati, Pittsburgh, Toledo, Atlanta, Orlando, and Chicago,
with connections to all major cities both in the continental United States
and abroad.
The city's local industries provide a wide variety of jobs for our residents.
Our City, in conjunction with Summit County and under State authority,
has established the Southern Summit County Jobs and Enterprise Zone. The
zone was developed to encourage business growth and create jobs in the
area through the provision of tax incentives for qualified corporations.
By attracting high-quality corporations, we are creating a strong, diversified
economic base, which will benefit the City into the future. Many different
products and services produced by our enterprises within the City furnish
the surrounding communities and areas. Therefore, we are committed to
providing an excellent environment for our local industries to prosper.
Our diverse economic base also means we are not overly dependent on anyone
industry, which translates into greater growth in times of economic expansion
and more stability in times of recession.
International
Industry
The original site of Foreign-Trade Zone (FTZ) #181 was established in
1991 within the Green community at the CAK International Business Park.
The FTZ in our community is comprised of 143 acres of industrially zoned
land at the Akron-Canton Airport and allows the import/export industries
located in this zone the advantage of reduced tax, duty, and insurance
costs. The Foreign-Trade Zone provides local manufacturing facilities
and developers access to foreign markets and grants unique development
opportunities within the City of Green.
