Green, OH –Mayor Dick Norton is hosting Charting the Course on Economic Development, a presentation geared to update business and community leaders on the City and its development, on September 30 at 8:30 a.m. at the Central Administration Building, 1755 Town Park Blvd.
Mayor Norton will share a brief update on the City’s economic development activities, followed by two guest speakers presenting information about programs available to assist businesses address their workforce needs. Superintendent of the Portage Lakes Career Center, Ben Moore, will share details about its breadth of training programs available for both high school and adult students, including a new program that will launch soon as a result of receiving a $1.5 M State of Ohio Straight A grant to replicate a robotics and advanced manufacturing program called RAMTEC at Tri-Rivers Career Center. In addition, Business Services Manager, Jason Haas, from Ohio Means Jobs - Summit County will discuss resources available to businesses to assist in attracting top talent, including free services available through the State of Ohio's partnership with Monster.com.
“These presentations are a way for the City to provide valuable information to our businesses as well as update them on projects and developments in Green,” said Mayor Norton. “Our business community is vital to our development and growth and keeping them informed is just one small way the City can assist in their growth their bottom-line.”
