Throughout 2016, the City of Green Parks & Recreation will be hosting Knit for the Needy making afghans and other "warm items" for those in need. This program is free and open to all who want to attend. The programs will be held at the John Torok Community and Senior Center, 4224 Massillon Road, on the first and third Thursday of every month, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. (with the exception of December and January, February is weather permitting). Yarn will be provided, however, participants will need to bring their own knitting needles and/or crochet hooks. Members are encouraged to make any items that they would like (gloves, mittens, scarves, hats, blankets, etc.). Patterns for various items will also be provided.
Please bring a covered dish you would like to share! All the materials that are produced will be donated to the Green Good Neighbors. If you cannot attend during this time frame, the City of Green will still gladly take any donations of completed warm items and/or yarn. Donations can be dropped off at the Parks & Recreation office, 1755 Town Park Blvd. Please call the City of Green Parks and Recreation Office at 330-896-6621 for more details.
