The City’s Green Gives Back Food Drive for Green Good Neighbors Yielded
more than 50 Grocery Carts Full of Donations
Green, OH – From November 1 through the end of December, the City of Green hosted its third annual Green Gives Back, a citywide food drive to benefit Green Good Neighbors, totaling more than
50 grocery carts full of non-perishable food items for the local organization which serves families in Green and surrounding communities.
“A special thank you to all who donated to the cause this year and to all the businesses and organizations who served as drop off locations throughout the City,” said Jeanne Greco, human resources manager for the City of Green and organizer of the program.
This year more than 19 businesses served as drop off locations in addition to Green Local School buildings and City buildings including Akron General/Physicians Office, Akron Library (Green Branch), Back to the Arcade, Boggs Chiropractic, Fireplaces & More, Giuseppe's Pizza, Green Family YMCA, Green School Bus Garage, Greenview Senior Assisted Living, Kaster Eye Clinic, Kids Play, Kindercare (Green Branch), Romeo's Pizza, Spoonhower Orthodontics, Sports Clips, State Farm, David J. Moore, Portage Lakes Career Center, Water Xscapes, and West Side Bakery.
Of special note, the Portage Lakes Career Center collected more than 3,000 items for the drive through the efforts of all their students, teacher and facility members.
The City plans to host the fourth annual Green Gives Back Food Drive this year in November and December.
