City of Green and its Development Partners Celebrate
the Completion of Port Green at CAK International Business Park, Phase III,
at Ribbon Cutting Ceremony on July 31
The City of Green and its Development Partners for Phase III of Port Green at CAK International Business Park including The State of Ohio, Akron-Canton Airport, Summit County, Aqua Ohio, Development Finance Authority of Summit County and SB Equities celebrate the completion of Port Green Phase III at CAK International Business Park in Green on Thursday, July 31 at 11:30 a.m. The ceremony will be held on Global Gateway (enter from International Parkway off of Massillon Road/SR 241 for parking at 2210 International Parkway).
The City of Green, and partner agencies collaborated to expand the successful industrial park located at the Akron-Canton Airport called Port Green at CAK International Business Park. The Business Park is located on the western side of the Akron-Canton Airport property between Massillon Road and Greensburg Road. This partnership built 1.1 miles of new roadway, including the addition of storm sewer, sanitary sewer and water lines. The expansion opens up an additional 140 acres of buildable commercial and industrial land – essentially doubling the size of the existing commercial park. Lots range in size from 5 acres to more than 35 acres. The land is also designated as a Foreign Trade Zone (FTZ#181), offering qualified companies access to additional tax savings. The City of Green and its partners will be aggressively marketing the Park with hopes of creating more investment and jobs for the region.
Port Green at CAK International Business Park, developed in three phases, encompasses more than 316 acres of land zoned for industrial and commercial use. The park, owned by the Akron-Canton Airport, was first opened in 1995 with phase two opening in 1997. This third phase extends Global Gateway to connect with Greensburg Road. Companies that currently call Port Green at CAK International Business Park home (Phase I and II) include ASC Industries, Diebold, Inc. (Global Services Logistics), GE Special Pack, J&K Subway, Sam’s Club Distribution Center, and Wacker Chemical Corporation—Silmix of OhioC.
The $4.387 million investment to construct the roadway and open up Port Green Phase III was made possible through the following collaborative partners:
