Economic Development

The City of Green is a progressive, prosperous suburban city. The City of Green is open to, and open for, business.

We are geographically blessed and desirable with three exits off of a major north-south interstate (I-77), easy access to nearby universities, high-quality health care and home to the Akron-Canton Airport-one of the nation's fastest growing airports.

We offer a diversity of commercial real estate options - from available suites in existing buildings to several acres of developable land. We have more than 730 acres of available land planned and zoned for commercial development. The City offers an online site locator featuring dozens of available commercial properties, many of which are available within the City's incentive areas. The City participates in several incentive programs for new construction or investment including the Ohio Enterprise Zone, Community Reinvestment Area, Tax Increment Financing and Foreign Trade Zone programs.

Our business community is growing, active and engaged - more than 1,100 businesses strong, including Fortune 500 companies, large, medium, small and micro-sized businesses.

The Mayor's Office and the City of Green's economic development team promote government and business collaboration to help businesses succeed and grow. We are committed to an aggressive economic development agenda that includes retaining and expanding existing businesses, attracting new quality businesses, and marketing available land for business attraction, retention and expansion. Recent investments in growth-enabling infrastructure, including enhanced roads, a new city and schools administration building, extensive fiber optics as well as parks and other green space make Green an attractive place to live, work and play.
