Economic Development

The City of Green is a great place to do business.  The City of Green Planning Department is a major and active promoter of economic development for the community. Economic development in the City has many facets and program offerings, which include business retention and expansion support, general business assistance, and various tax incentive programs. The City of Green Planning Department should be your first point of contact and reference for economic development in our community.

The City of Green, incorporated in 1992, is a dynamic and growing municipality strategically located in northeast Ohio and equidistant between the cities of Akron and Canton.  Our community is a vibrant, progressive city that encourages well-planned development and provides a rich environment for living, working and playing.

The City has it all--excellent transportation accessibility, an educated local workforce and abundant, available land for development, which makes Green a location of choice for both residential and commercial projects.   The City of Green is within easy reach of the northeast Ohio business community and the international corporate world, thru major transportation interstates and the Akron-Canton Airport.  Furthermore, Green provides access to business incentives including a designated Foreign-Trade Zone located at one of the City’s business parks, a State of Ohio Enterprise Zone encompassing the entire City and various other programs.
