Green’s Parks Board Approves Dogs Permitted at Ariss and East Liberty Parks
Green, OH – The City of Green’s Parks and Recreation Board recently approved permitting dogs on leashes at East Liberty Park, 471 East Turkeyfoot Lake Road, and Ariss Park, 2520 Wise Road. Previously dogs were only permitted in Southgate Park, 5300 Massillon Road.
Dogs must be on a leash (6 feet or less) and are not permitted on sports fields or in playground areas at these parks. Pet owners are required to clean-up after their pets and to dispose of waste properly. Mutt Mitts (waste bags) will be provided at East Liberty, Ariss and Southgate Parks beginning April 1.
“These two parks are located near neighborhoods and offer walking trails, so it was a logical choice to permit dogs,” said Mike Elkins, superintendent of Parks and Recreation. “We ask residents to obey the rules and not bring their dogs to our other City parks.”
