2012 Engineering Projects

There are several major engineering projects this construction season.

Caston Road Resurfacing and Widening with Hike/Bike Lanes

A final top coat, grading and landscaping will be completed this spring along Caston Road.  In 2011, the road was widened to include six-foot hike and bike lanes on both sides of the roadway from Arlington Road to Main Street, adding another two miles of hike/bike lanes to our city. 

Arlington Road Corridor Project -- SR 619/Arlington Road Intersection and Widening of Arlington Road

A final top coat will be installed this June from September Drive north to the I-77 ramp.  This work will be completed at night to avoid disrupting daytime traffic.   This is the final item to be completed of this project, which began in 2010.  The project included widening the intersection of Arlington Road and SR 619; widening Arlington from Liberty Green Drive to I-77; rerouting Jarvis Road to Arlington Ridge Drive; and widening the intersection of Moore Road and Arlington.  For up-to-date information on this project, visit the Arlington Road project webpage.   Also, like us on Facebook for daily updates at www.facebook.com/cityofgreenohio

Arlington Road South from Nimisila to Mount Pleasant
The City will repave the section of Arlington Road from Mount Pleasant north to Nimisila.

Franks Parkway at Heritage Crossings
A new road is being built as an extension of Boettler Road to the east of Massillon into the new Heritage Crossings development.  The road will be named Franks Parkway in honor of the Franks family.  The road is being constructed by developer CAM, Inc. and is expected to open in June.

Global Gateway
Global Gateway within the CAK Business Park will be extended 1.1 miles to intersect with Greensburg Road.

Mayfair Road Resurfacing Project
From Mount Pleasant to just past Aultman Road (near the railroad tracks), Mayfair Road will be resurfaced this summer.
