Mayor Appoints Charter Review Commission for 2012;
Commission Soliciting Input and Suggestion for
Charter Review Recommendations from Residents at Upcoming Public Meetings
GREEN, OH - Mayor Dick Norton recently appointed the following members to the City's Charter Review Commission: Susan Allen, chair; Ted Mallo, vice chair; Jim Branney; Jeff Evans; and Josie McElroy. The commission is assembled every seven years to review the current City Charter and make recommendations to City Council for changes or additions to the charter.
Residents of Green are invited to attend any or all of the City Charter Commission's public meetings to offer their suggestions or input about changes to the city charter. The Charter Review Commission will meet on the following dates at 6:30 p.m. in City Council Chambers, 1755 Town Park Blvd.: February 27, March 5, March 19, April 2, April 16, April 30, May 7 and June 4. Additional meeting dates may be added.
If unable to attend a public meeting, the Commission requests that communication, questions, suggestions or recommendations be submitted by mail to the Charter Review Commission, PO Box 278, Green, Ohio 44232, or by emailing Sharon Salem, charter review commission secretary, at ssalem@cityofgreen.org.

The City of Green is governed by a City Charter, which was first developed and adopted on November 3, 1992. Since then four subsequent amendments have been made.
The duty of the Charter Commission is to review the current Charter and recommend revisions to City Council. Following their recommendations to Council, public meetings will be held prior to Council accepting the recommendations in full or in part. Once approved by Council, residents of Green will vote to accept the recommendations at the next regular Municipal or Ohio general election.
